Thank you for your interest in learning more about becoming a member with North Benton Ambulance (NBA).
Our team could not provide the excellent care for our patients without the skill and dedication of our volunteers. We’re always looking for people who want to make a difference. It is a commitment we take very seriously – and we love every minute of it! We invite you to learn more about our team and the ways you can contribute.
I’ve Never Done This Before. How Can I Help?
Previous experience or training is not required for the entry level positions. NBA has very specific training programs for each position — we’ll make sure you’re trained and ready to go. Training and assistance to obtain certifications will be provided for applicants who do not have the appropriate credentials.
Applicants for membership in NBA must be at least 18 years old; applicants younger than 18 will be referred to the Explorer Program. It’s a great first step!
What Types of Positions Are Available?
There are three positions available at NBA:
Driver’s are responsible for driving the ambulance to and from the scene, and assisting the with patient care.
EMT’s are trained to assist the Paramedic and Driver in ambulance operations and patient care.
Paramedic’s are responsible for the care of patients at an emergency scene.
What Kind of Time Commitment Is Needed?
All active members, including those in training, are required to contribute 36 hours per month. We encourage members to work consistently and often, especially while training, to maintain and learn new skills. NBA makes a considerable investment in training new members. Therefore, we seek members who are interested in long-term commitment.
